The children will compete from 4 to 5 events on a Saturday morning.  It is not compulsory to participate in every event.   They may elect to do some events but not all.

Competition on Saturdays is optional, you don't have to compete if your child doesn't want to on that day.  However, the parent still has to do their allocated duties if the child isn't there.

Unfortunately Little Athletics is not for training only.

The great thing about little athletics is that it can be used for whatever purpose suits you.  Whether it be for fun, competition, improvement, general fitness, its all there.

The results of the events can be obtained from a website called Results HQ.  On this website you will be able to obtain your child's times and distances as well as placing.

What its all about!

The South Perth Little Athletics Club train on Wednesday afternoons from 5pm sharp to 6.30pm. Parents with children 10 years old and under are asked to stay at the ground with their children.

We run off a training schedule where we warm up and then rotate 4 events in their particular age group.  These events change each week coinciding with what is coming up that following Saturday.

Please note there is no "one on one" training in club training time.  Should you wish to train your child individually before or after club training please speak to the Coach Co-ordinator.

Training takes place at Ernest Johnson Oval, South Perth.

In addition to the registration fees a bond of $50 will be required to ensure all rostered duties are met. If the parents duties are met the $50 bond will be given back at the end of season Wind Up.

If you will be away on a week that you are rostered for it is your responsibility to email and/or call other parents to swap.

Parents will also be asked to help coach or assist a coach at training. Without parent help the club cannot function and we ask any parent with or without coaching skills and who is able to help to join us.

Summer Competition

The summer competition starts in October and finishes in February.

Our program runs from Week 1 to Week 3. Our summer season goes for 5 programs. In addition to those 15 weeks we have our Championships that will  run on the 2 the following Saturdays after the last program.

A “White Book” will be available on line and we encourage you to print it up as it will have all the programs in it for each of the 3 weeks.  This White Book also provides a host of other information from a District point of view including things like Codes of Behaviour, Dates of Events, Spectator Hill Seating Order, Points System etc.

Each week depending on their age the children will have between 4 and 5 events.

Our Saturday competition takes place at Ern Clark Oval on Wharf Street in Cannington. We start at 7.30am and will finish any time from 11am to 12noon  approximately.

There will be no twilight meets this season.

Our last meet before Christmas is on Saturday the 17th of December.  We then resume on Saturday the 14th of January 2023.

South Perth Pelicans compete against Canning Vale, Queens Park, Riverton, Willetton and Ranford and together we fall under the Southern Stars District.

The results of the events can be obtained from a website called Results HQ.  On this webiste you will be able to obtain your child's times and distances as well as placing.
